Infolinks Testing In Progress: Feedback Wanted

Over the next couple of weeks, I will be testing out the contextual advertising program Infolinks on the blog. This program is an In-Text advertising service where they take the text in my blog posts and create links within them.

If you hover with your mouse over these double underlined or dotted links, you will see a small dialog box containing advertisement related to the text marked. You can choose to either move the mouse away and go on with your browsing, or to press on the box and go to the ad page which is relevant to the text. Click here to learn more about Infolinks Double Underline Link Ads.

By using this service, I hope to bring you relevant ads within the posts on the blog. These relevant ads will also help pay for the upkeep of the blog. However, it is very important for me to keep the quality of the blog at it's utmost and this is why I require your feedback during the testing period.

This feedback will help determine if the Infolinks contextual advertising program remains on the blog. Too much negative feedback and the program is removed, positive feedback and the program remains... it's up to you!

It is and always will be my objective that the quality of the blog comes first, ads will always come second place. This blog was launched to provide readers such as yourself with good quality, useful content and not (and will never be) used solely as a money-making machine. This is why your feedback is so important to me.

Does the Infolinks program improve or downgrade the quality of the blog? Please let me know.

  1. Ok here goes my honest oppinion. I have come accross articles and other blogs that have this and to be honest it can be annoying. I never click on it and I really don't know the statistics ... so just my oppinion and I could be alone.. : ) I do think it is a cool feature for people that are looking to make money but in a forum like this there are enough advertising on the sides of our blogs and other places that to also put it in the text is just overkill... : ) I think if your looking for help to maintain the site then add a donation button with a paypal link and I am sure if your followers feel that your information is worth it they will help donate.... just a thought. By the way I love the info you provide and I am still learning my way around...

  2. Too many ads take away from the reading material. I skip blogs with ads. I prefer clear and clean and easy to read materials.

  3. As long as I don't get pop-up ads that force themselves on me when I'm trying to read the content, I can overlook the links. If they DO give me pop-ups without giving me a choice, that's a huge negative. And the honest answer is that I'll end up no longer visiting that blog in the future. I'm there to read content, not to be importuned to buy more products, link hop all over creation and split my focus endlessly. At first glance on this one, I'm going to have to weigh in that it's a drawback.

  4. Okay, here goes...honesty. I don't care for the links, I also find them annoying. If my mouse accidentally catches the link it slows me down...I know like only by a millisecond, but it's annoying nonetheless.
